Meeting Themes

The meeting will focus on some common themes that are at the forefront of fusion, atmospheric and astrophysical research. These are:

Turbulent interactions with Shear Flows: will include discussion of Shear Sheltering in atmospheres, Tacocline sheared flows in the sun and Transport suppression by sheared flow in fusion devices.

Coherent Structures in Turbulence: will include Streamers in fusion turbulence, Coherent MHD structures in astrophysical turbulence and Coherent Vortices in atmospheric dynamics.

Complex System Approaches to Turbulence: will include Dynamical system approaches to the solar cycle and Atmospheric dynamics and Self Organized Criticality in fusion plasmas.

It is hoped that the meeting will initiate closer collaboration between scientists in these fields.
