Workshop on Socio-Economics Aspects of Fusion Power


The Workshop on socio-economic aspects of fusion power will be held at Culham Science Centre, on 25-27 April 2005. The list of topics to be covered includes, but is not limited to:

[A] Internal costs of fusion electricity
[B] External costs of fusion electricity
[C] Public and social acceptance
[D] Non-electricity applications of fusion
[E] Fusion in long-term energy/environment/economics scenarios
[F] Economic valuation of fusion development

There will be representatives from Europe, USA and Japan, with likely participation also from India and China.

Those wishing to attend the workshop, whether or not presenting a paper, are asked to inform Mrs. Kamariah Samson at the email address below. Those wishing to make presentations at the workshop are asked to contact ian.cook@ukaea.org.uk giving a title and abstract. There will be the opportunity for papers presented to the workshop to be published in a special issue of Fusion Engineering and Design. There will also be a summary report prepared for publication in an energy/environment/economics journal.
