Apprenticeships
Culham Centre for Fusion Energy's Advanced Apprenticeship Scheme is a great way for young people to get into a technical career in engineering.
Every year we select apprentice engineering technicians to undergo a four-year training programme based at Culham and at a local college. The scheme is designed to develop technical and academic abilities and personal qualities. It includes lots of practical experience working on fusion projects, supervised by accredited mentors from a wide range of disciplines. Completing the programme results in a Certificate of Advanced Apprenticeship, a complementary academic qualification, registration as an EngTech by either the Institution of Mechanical Engineers or the Institution of Engineering and Technology and a head start for a future career!
